Our client is a leading provider of network security and monitoring solutions for global networks. Its customers include over 70 percent of the world’s ISPs delivering best-in-class network security and visibility.


  • The role is primarily a driver of engineering customer success working with one of our clients largest Telco Carrier customers in the UK and being responsible for post-sales technical/engineering engagements.

Key need:

  • Hands-on technical engineering capability combined with ability to engage with key customer stake-holders, diplomatically when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This individual will plan and perform a variety of complicated tasks requiring a wide degree of creativity. Such as (but not limited to):

  • Becoming embedded within the customer’s operational and design staff to be the product technical Subject Matter Expert.
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving technical customer issues
  • Replicating and testing in a lab environment, as well as creating and testing Method Operating Procedures (MOPs)
  • Maintaining and managing customer network monitoring systems,
  • Providing informal and/or formal product training as well as generating customer-specific technical documentation, as needed
  • Interfacing with technical support, engineering and product management to escalate and resolve issues.
  • Tuning and Optimizing installations
  • Assisting with security attack mitigations (pre-attack prep, during-attack assistance, post-attack reviews) as well as maintaining on-call phone availability for critical escalations
  • Providing feedback from customers to product management and engineering teams

Experience and Educational Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in technical support functions with very strong fundamental understanding of telecom network and routing environments.
  • Advanced networking skills required (TCP/IP, and BGP Routing), and NetFlow experience and understanding desired
  • Strong network security skills required, Knowledge of DDoS and mitigation techniques
  • Knowledge of network test equipment (IXIA, Spirent) and network management tools (SNMP, MRTG… etc.), and
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Linux and/or Solaris Operating System, and scripting.
  • Ability to work in a self-sufficient manner, involving other parties where necessary.
