Title: Principal Network Security Post-Sales Engineer – BGP & DDoS

Location: UK or Ireland (remote with travel) 30–40% travel

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for a senior, hands-on network security engineer to deliver post-sales technical services for large service provider and enterprise customers. 

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical problem-solving, working directly with customers, and being trusted to handle complex, real-world network security challenges. You’ll operate as a mobile, floating resource, supporting multiple customers rather than being tied to a single account.

THE TECHNOLOGY:

You’ll work with a high-scale network security platform that protects critical networks from DDoS attacks and major network traffic-based threats.

The technology operates in large, high-throughput environments, providing deep visibility into network traffic and routing behaviour and enabling rapid detection and mitigation of live attacks. This is hands-on engineering in production networks, not a plug-and-play solution.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as a technical expert for network security solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues (remote & onsite)
  • Support customers during live DDoS and security incidents
  • Optimise, upgrade, and tune deployed solutions
  • Work closely with engineering teams on escalations
  • Deliver technical training, documentation, and best-practice guidance

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Strong networking fundamentals (BGP, MPLS, TCP/IP)
  • Hands-on DDoS mitigation experience
  • Background in service provider or large enterprise networks
  • Linux experience
  • Comfortable working directly with customers
  • English + a second language would be ideal. French preferred (or Spanish/Italian a bonus)

Location & Travel

  • Based in UK or Ireland, near an international airport
  • 30–40% travel to customer sites
