Public Sector Sales Engineer (UK): Enterprise Networking & Service Assurance

UK | Home-Based | Customer-Facing Pre-Sales Role

A global software vendor operating in the Network Visibility, Service Assurance and Performance Monitoring space is seeking a customer-facing Sales Engineer to support major UK Public Sector customers, including Central Government, Healthcare, Education and Local Government.

This is not a pure cybersecurity role. The focus is on helping customers understand, troubleshoot and optimise complex enterprise network environments.

This will be a techno-commercial individual with:

  • Strong enterprise networking fundamentals, combined with previous hands-on troubleshooting and packet/traffic analysis experience.
  • Exposure to deploying and supporting physical, virtual and/or cloud-based solutions within enterprise environments.
  • Customer-facing pre-sales experience and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Partnering with Account Managers to support new opportunities
  • Leading discovery sessions and technical discussions
  • Providing technical leadership throughout the sales cycle
  • Supporting solution design and customer troubleshooting engagements
  • Building relationships across UK Public Sector organisations

Backgrounds likely to translate well:

Network Monitoring, Service Assurance, Network Performance Management, Network Visibility, Telecommunications Operations, Enterprise Networking and Technical Pre-Sales.

Ideal Profile:

A proactive, commercially aware and relationship-focused Sales Engineer with genuine hands-on networking and troubleshooting experience. Public Sector exposure and Security Clearance (SC/DV) are advantageous but not essential.

This opportunity will suit someone who can speak credibly with engineers, engage customer stakeholders and translate complex technical concepts into business value.
